As the lead singer for 1960s psychedelic rock groups The Great Society and the Jefferson Airplane, Grace penned two of the most important anthems of the time, White Rabbit and Somebody To Love, when she formed The Great Society with her then-husband in 1965 at the age of 26. The songs took off to become iconic hits when she joined the Jefferson Airplane in 1966, reintroducing her compositions with them.
One of the first female rock stars, as opposed to put-together pop singers, it was Grace's powerful and intense vocals that heralded the age of acid rock and her hypnotic, charismatic attitude that made her a legend.
