Neil Krug

I first became aware of Neil Krug's photography when I saw his work featured on BOOOOOOOM!, one of the ultimate guides to all matters of artistic flavor floating around out there today. I've posted some of these images before, and I've seen them around in various places on the web more and more recently, so I figured it was as good a time as any to revisit - there are plenty more on his flickr!

It's probably no secret I'm a sucker for the expired film effect, even if I do see it all over the place - I just love it! There's something dreamy and haunted about it, as if the camera really is a medium to the past, finally bringing to light forgotten traces from long-gone years into today. And I don't even have to mention how surreal it can be: the beaches and western locations Neil Krug shoots are like perfect mirages spotlighted by shining golden orbs.
