The Great Indoors
The ultimate in modern design!
The trendy colors of the moment here are vibrant primaries such as cherry reds, yellows and robin's egg blue in the 1950s, to the typical marigold/goldenrod/mustard yellows, reddish-orange, cornflower blue, brick red, tan neutrals, deep brown and sienna/reddish-brown, terracotta clay earthy tones and the classic avocado in the 1970s.
These shots are found from old magazine scans of 1950s-1970s designer home interiors, and what a sight they are. From spaceage streamlined simplicity to decadent daisied fabrics and wallpapers, these rooms range from the beautiful (and enviable!) to the downright tacky (and headache-inducing) - but always amazing!!
