A motorcycle enthusiast before he was even cast in his first "non-romantic" role in Roger Corman's The Wild Angels in 1966, Fonda played the part of a motorcycle gang leader alongside Nancy Sinatra. He then went on to star in Corman's The Trip, a 1967 film about the healing powers of LSD. Sex, Drugs, and Societal Estrangement everywhere!
In 1969 he starred with Dennis Hopper in Easy Rider, directed by Hopper and produced by Fonda, and of course it was his role as the laconic dreamer Wyatt, a.k.a. Captain America in this film about two young bikers on the road to Find America that brought him fame and made him an icon for his time.
