Marianne Faithfull; North Country Maid and Sister Morphine

Miss Marianne has had quite the life! She began her music career as a folk singer of the coffeehouse set in mid-1960s Swinging London, when she met the Rolling Stones at a launch party and proceeded to leave her husband to live with Mick Jagger. Their relationship lasted until around 1970 and was filled with notorious incidents of wild behavior and drug abuse, which she would continue to struggle with as her addictions to cocaine and heroin eventually left her homeless and caused her to lose custody of her son.

In recent years, after a diagnosis and full recovery from breast cancer, she has appeared in Sofia Coppola's Marie Antoinette and received a European Film Academy Best Actress nomination for her role of Maggie, a 60-year-old widow who becomes a sex worker to pay for medical treatment for her ill grandson in the film Irina Palm.
