Quickly typed as “the British Bardot,” Gillian surprised her critics by singing very well in French and having more hits in France than in England. She turned up alongside Jane Birkin in Antonioni's Blow Up, but her film appearances decreased and she became quite elusive after the 70’s, when she moved to New York to work as an illustrator for books and magazines and later married Stewart Young, manager for The Scorpions!
